I forgot to update the hours on google maps :( so so sorry if you planned to stop by and thought we weren’t there. with the downtime emerald and Yasmin helped me settle on a name for the library, I created a sticker for the library on canva, I processed library books, and attempted to use IG to sell some books for the first time.
(I really want to sell some books to have the money to buy new books to have on hand for you. for four years I have maintained a model of purchasing books with the money earned from selling books. unfortunately, in holding to that and not financing book purchases I have not been able to purchase new inventory)
picks of the first stack above! titles below, will update yespleasebooks.com this afternoon with sale prices!

READING | WRITING | LISTENING with emerald faith
thursday, april 16th 12p - 4p
the origin point for RWL is emerald’s need to complete their doctoral dissertation and yes please serving as the site for the completion of that work. emerald committed to a practice of writing and once their practice was solidified it was time to invite others in for READING | WRITING | LISTENING together.
the focus for this last of two RWL sessions is acknowledgements. the acknowledgment section is one of my favorite sections of a book. I want to know who writers read and study closely, the teacher or advisor that turned them on to an idea or pushed them to sustain the work, who protected their sanity and cheered them on. I like to know if the writer believes that the writing was a solitary thing or if the writer believes that they are a conduit or _____________. acknowledgment is an opportunity to reflect on who all was their with you, let them know that you recognize their efforts, and to share with the rest of us how we can better support one another.
you are of course welcome to bring the work that you need to complete and join emerald and write your own acknowledgment letter, love letter, or note of gratitude to someone who has held you/carried you/ uplifted you through anything, big or small.
